Regular attendance in school is essential for children to get maximum benefit from public school education. Unless the child is ill, parents are responsible for seeing that he/she attends school every day, arrives on time, and stays the entire day.

The school will record student attendance on a daily basis. Students must attend a minimum of 170 days to be considered for promotion unless exempted by special consideration.

Attendance Guidelines:
Absences may be excused for illness, death in the family, serious illness in the family, or abences that have been pre-approved by the principal.

A written note from parents/guardians, is required within 3 days of returning to school. When absences total more than 10 days a medical excuse by a licensed physician will be required for any additional absences.

Excessive absences or tardies are referred to the truancy office and legal action may be taken.

School hours for students are from 8:00am to 2:30pm. You may bring your child to school between 7:25 and 8:00. At 8:00 your child is tardy and you must accompany them to the front office. You will see the cougar outside the door to indicate that you need to come to the office to sign in your child.

School office hours are from 7:30am to 3:30pm.
