Students from elementary schools in Central, Clemson, and Six Mile had the opportunity to complete a Holiday Bingo Board for a chance to participate in Read & Rebound. After finishing the Bingo sheet, students received a free ticket to a Daniel High School basketball game, where they had the chance to read with a Harlem Globetrotter and receive a complimentary copy of the award-winning book *Swish*!
Our 4th and 5th graders did a fabulous job of performing the musical Annie at Daniel High School last Friday night, 1/31. We are so proud of all their hard work and the amazing talent that was shown!

📱 Revised Personal Electronic Device Policy: Beginning January 2025 📱
Under a new South Carolina policy, schools are required to limit students' access to cell phones and other personal devices during the school day. The School District of Pickens County has adopted a revised Personal Electronic Device Policy to comply with state law (Budget Proviso 1.103).
✔️Devices must be silenced and stored in lockers, backpacks, or other designated areas throughout the instructional time.
✔️Devices include but are not limited to, cell phones, smart watches, tablets, and gaming devices.
We encourage parents to discuss this policy with their children and support its implementation when we return in January. Thank you for partnering with us as we implement this required policy.

Over the course of the next two months (1/22-3/15), students at CAA who are considered English Language Learners will take the annual ACCESS test. The test includes four domains: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Mrs. Barton, our ESOL teacher, will conduct testing in small groups and/or individually with her students during this testing window. Results from this assessment are used to make decisions about students' English academic language and to facilitate their language development. Please let us know if you have any questions!

The School District of Pickens County (SDPC) will open on a two-hour delay on Thursday, January 20, 2022, due to the continued danger of ice on shaded areas and on secondary roads. The two-hour delay gives additional time for ice to melt off the roads and will improve visibility for drivers.
-- Morning 3K and 4K classes are canceled. PM classes operate on a normal schedule.
-- No Buses on Icy Roads
-- High school students (including Career Center) should check their Schoology messages for adjusted class times and bell schedules.
