Daniel High School honored the spirit of our nation's 24th Patriot Day by supporting community events and the JROTC cadet corps leading activities for the student body. Thirteen JROTC students participated in the annual Clemson Memorial Stadium Climb honoring first responders who risked their lives on that fateful day. The cadets combined for 24 full laps around the stadium, climbing and descending each section of Clemson's football field with 500 other local citizens and students. At D.W. Daniel proper, JROTC cadets read a dramatization of the events of 9/11 during morning announcements and conducted morning and afternoon flag details surrounded by approximately 100 Daniel High School students. In the afternoon, Daniel presented the City of Central Fire Department with a folded flag and Certificate thanking them for their support to our local community.
