On Monday, November 18, 2024, the School District of Pickens County Board of Trustees approved the Superintendent’s recommendation for Mrs. Brittney Cassell Morgan to become the interim principal of Central Academy of the Arts beginning January 1, 2025. Mrs. Morgan will step into this role as the current principal, Mrs.Tish Goode, takes a leave to address personal medical needs.
Mrs. Morgan brings a wealth of experience to Central Academy of the Arts, having served as the Assistant Principal at Forest Acres Elementary in Easley. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and student-centered learning. Her leadership accomplishments include coordinating school-wide initiatives, supporting instructional improvements, and enhancing community engagement. Her ability to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families has been a noted strength during her career.
“Mrs. Morgan is an exceptional leader who has proven her dedication to students, staff, and families throughout her career,” said Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck. “She has a gift for building relationships and fostering collaboration, and I know she will be a strong, steady presence for Central Academy during this transition.”
Mrs. Morgan holds a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, both from Anderson University. She has over 15 years of experience in education, with roles ranging from classroom teacher to instructional coach to assistant principal. As she transitions into this interim leadership position, Mrs. Morgan is committed to maintaining the high standards and vibrant arts-integrated culture that make Central Academy of the Arts a valued part of the community.

Morgan and her husband, Tyler, currently live in Easley.
Mrs. Morgan begins her new role on January 1, 2025.
